Sources for Herman. The idea started with thinking of a pet for Neptuna. I used clay to create the angles and shading for the tentacles easier.

Sketching Phase

I used bits and pieces of the crabs above in order to create the initial sketch on Photoshop.

Painting Phase

I worked in layers on Photoshop and tried matching the colours of Neptuna as well as I could. Herman's shell turned out great. I also love the yellow coral which gives a nice balance to the composition.
